New Long Lake Residence

The existing house was knocked-down to allow the Owner to build a new home for a growing and extended family to enjoy on Long Lake in Bridgton Maine. The lot was extremely challenging with regards to Shoreland zoning and there were several variations of the house during the design process to shape and shave space to remain in compliance with the regulations…..all without compromising the function and wishes of the Owner.

The result of the collaborative effort is an efficient, well proportioned and beautiful lake side cottage. Features include 3 bedrooms and a master suite, open living area, spacious screen porch and outdoor living spaces. An existing bunk house was reintegrated into the new home which completes an ensemble of smaller structures. Interior finishes further enhance the light and airy experience with coffered ceilings, wainscoting, nooks, a sliding barn door, specialty lighting and unique window design.

The sensitivity the Owner brought to the process made the project the success it has become. The Owner will be enjoying many years of lake side living with the up and coming generation of friends and family.
